If you’re like most midlife Americans, you’re wondering if you have enough retirement income to give you a great life and last as long as you need it. If you have children or a favorite charity, you’d like to have even more than you need, because you’d like to leave a legacy.
You’re not alone, and I, for one, had the same questions, which is why I wanted a side job working from home.
Why work from home?
Stating the obvious, it’s great to be able to work from home in stockinged feet and sweatpants. It’s great not to have to answer to anyone else! It’s great to stretch out and see what you can do – and I’m well on the way to earning a full-time income in a part time business that I run from home!
This is exciting news to me, and I’m sure that anyone else in the same boat can relate. Having a solid retirement income is not necessarily the norm in the U.S. where I live. In fact, it’s definitely a minority who have that guaranteed income. Social Security obviously isn’t enough, and even with a company pension, you’re either going to have to die young or have some additional eggs in that nest of yours.
So how can working at home help?
Working from home in a business like mine is something I can do well into my retirement years. It’s fun, it’s mentally stimulating, and it works my brain. I’m constantly meeting new people and learning how to handle new situations. I’m learning new skills all the time, and I’m enthusiastic about my choices and the people on my team. I honestly wish I had been working at home a lot longer, but I’m really happy that I found this opportunity when I did. It’s been a breath of fresh air.
Working in a business like mine allows me to write off certain expenses. When we have networking conferences, masterminds, and other functions, I can travel and write off the travel expenses. It’s really refreshing compared to the daily grind of a blue-collar or even an office job. It provides me with an additional income, but also some opportunities for personal growth.
Finally, working at home in a business like mine provides me with extra income – money that I can save for retirement, reinvest in the business, or do a combination of both. Personally, I really want to increase my retirement income, so I’m not about to spend the extra money without giving it any thought. I’m really planning to enjoy the money and use it to the best possible advantage.
Can working at home increase your retirement income? You bet it can, when you find the right people, business opportunity, and training for your particular goals and dreams.
